Partial Print

I only had time to cap about 15 minutes of Stray, but still had over 100 pictures to upload. Here's a taster.

Welcome to Blogland, Hoskeyapin

Our lovely and appreciative poster of comments has started her own blog on http://vincentfanbaseforfans,blogspot.com. She has asked about producing slideshows, and as I am a complete novice beholden to my fellow bloggers in general and Eliza in particular, I'll make a start, but please everyone, chip in and bail me out when I'm either stuck or wrong.

First of all, you have to go to something like Photobucket.com and sign up for an account. It's free. You can then load all your pictures up into files in your album. Do this from My Pictures, where you highlight a file and you will see "Publish this file to the web" ast the side. Click on it and go through the sequence. I can only publish 40 or so files without a fault occurring, so I highlight, say, 1-40 and do them, then 41-60, and so on.

When they are in your Photobucket album, there is a series of blue bars along the top, the first of which is "create slideshow". Click on this and your photos will appear along the top. Select the type of show and clisk on pictures (usually it will take 10. You can change the type of show up till you have saved it. Once it's saved, right-click on the "tag" line that goes with the slideshow to "select all", then again to "copy". Go to your blog, on Create Post click on the Edit HTML tab, right-click and paste in the window, add your text and Bingo! When you post the show magically appears.

If I've missed anything or got something wrong, someone please put Hoskeyapin right. Let's look forward to more fun soon on her new blog.

Ann's Tag

Six weird things about me. Mmm. Be selective, Val.

1. I have to wear outfits that match or contrast attractively in colour (including jewellery and undies) - today it's mauve trousers, white blouse with mauve and lilac stripes over lilac vest top, white bra and panties, mauve socks with pink and white stripes and purple shoes.

2. I can't stand to see a curtain not hanging straight or a throw askew, but I can leave papers everywhere and forget to vacuum for days (well, wseeks, really).

3. I ask myself questions out loud in the second person and answer them in the same way.

4. I have 14 dollshouses and room boxes, none of which is finished.

5. I keep buying boxes to store things in, but I have nowhere to store the boxes. They are on the sofa.

6. I put important papers, mail that needs filing or answering, subscription magazines in their wrappers and other vital paperwork on top of the TV in the kitchen. Then when that's full I put things on the hifi. Then on the stairs, one after another. Eight of the twelve are now full from the edge to halfway across.

Randomly Gorgeous

Whatever selection you make, you're bound to end up with something divine.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions on how to solve my DVD player problem. I'll have a go either this weekend ir the next. I have a suggestion from PowerDVD/Cyberlink to try first which is non-intrusive, but I imagine that long-term I'll be downloading software. Meanwhile I'll make use of my Region 1 only status to cap some Season 3 episodes or films.

Doh!

I was so pleased when I found that PowerDVD would let me play Region 1 DVDs. I'd already played so many Region 2s on it that I was sure that if it wazs going to fix, it would already have done so.

Wrong! It's locked on Region 1, ao I can now no longer play my Seasons 1 and 2 DVDs on it, and can therefore not cap them. I don't know what will happen with my home-recorded ones, but at present they are not playing well. My Season 3 discs are Region 1, along with a lot of the movies, so I'll have to stick with them till I can come up with a solution to the problem.

Guess for the time being I'm back to borrowing a lot of LOCI pictures from all but Season 3.

Help!

I mistyped the title of the previous post and have tried repeatedly to edit it, but though it looks fine in the edit screen, on the blog it keeps coming up the same. I blame this new keyboard on the computer at work.

Looks like I'll have to wait for tonight at home.

A tight fit...

...that I would pay a lot of money to be in.

The War At Blogger

I've finally got peed off enough with peeinshorts to enable comment moderation. Not that I'm sure how to do it yet! I still can't get my head round how this idiot halfwit thinks it has the right to insult me, my friends and the lovely Vincent on MY blog for MY friends about MY beloved Vincent! Diane, to call it shitforbrains is to insult shit, as I'm sure my shit has more brains than that entire creature.

Peeinshorts, no-one will now read you comments as I won't even read them myself before deleting them. Poor ignorant child, you can't spell, you have no idea of grammar or punctuation, and you have been so badly brought up by incompetent or indifferent parents that you just don't know right from wrong. They taught you no manners (except bad ones) and they really must be terrible people to have produced a rude little troll like you.

Meanwhile, here is some of The War At Home to make up for the inconvenience of having to wait to see your comments appear. Thank you all for your patience.

Happy Google Day VIncent D'Onofrio

Here is my contribution to making a mass entry into the Google Alerts for Vincent D'Onofrio, the most talented, handsome and sexy actor ever to walk the earth.

I love the way the big boy is stretching up as far as his perfect height allows, and his jacket falls open to reveal a great view of that lovely body.

How...

...does any woman in his proximity restrain herself from leaping right on to him and smothering him with kisses?

What a Mover

So I shut down the computer and rebooted it, and suddenly, as if by miracle, I was able to play the DVD again and do some more caps. (No change on Blogger, though).

I felt like seeing the lovely Vincent D'Onofrio showing off his dancing talent (not to mention those big hands). Somehow I don't think any of you will object either!

If only...

Hoskeyapin mentioned Vincent talking to people online. I heard that he used to, but no longer has the time. I can't imagine he visits our blogs. He doesn't strike me as the sort of person who checks himself on Google.

But my lucky German correspondant tells me HE PHONED HER a couple of weeks after they met, and her daughter took the call. She didn't have the courage to phone back.

It may have been 2 years ago, but I think it's still worth a try. Better still, I have offered to try for her, and explain her failure to call back sooner.

I am as green as a meadow of fresh grass.

BOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Forewarned is not forearmed

Wendy warned of Blogger problems, but all seemed fine - till I tried to create a post and found no picture icon, and no Compose/HTML tabs.

Add to that the fact that PowerDVD allowed me to start capturing images from Pas De Deux, then froze, and when I started it again gave me incomprehensible messages about something TV being enabled, and protected discs. NOT A CLUE!

Let's just hope the slide show I made from the few pictures I managed to capture will now post using code.

Elton's Tongue

I just capped Claire Dolan and thought I'd share these tantalising glimpses with you.

Another Lucky Lady

I'm awaiting further confirmation, but I've had an email from a German journalist who actually MET Vincent when she was is NYC in 2004. He was "very tall, very charming and full of fun...a very nice guy".

If I understood her follow-up email, she, her party and his spent the evening together and exchanged phone numbers. She's going to see if her friend still has any photos.

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!

Oldies and Goodies

There's this old joke about when when someone is insulted, they say, "I didn't come here to be insulted" and the other person says, "Where do yo usually go?"

Remind anyone of anything?
