FPS

When I got to the last number in the usual sequence, I wasn't even half way through the album. It seemed a shame to waste that many pictures, so I added a few more.

Then, of course, there's the Goren Groin slideshow...

Alternative Sources

I found an old APS film in a camera, finished it off, and had it developed. Surprisingly (joke) it had a lot of animal pictures on it.

This is how my old boy Shelley is looking these days.

This is how he looked when the film first went in.

And cuddling up with Mitzi.

Dandy strikes some interesting poses.

Jaspa commandeers this drawer whenever I leave it open. It contains catnip.

I also took some stills from the short movie I made in Canada in 2006.
My cousin Leah is an opera singer. I caught her on the treadmill.

Leah's mother and aunt, my cousins Linda and Joyce.

Part of Linda's house.

The old dog, Joe.

The garden and lake.

My cousin Lorna.

Quite a cast

A production of Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot is currently touring the country, and will come to London for the summer at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Apart from the fact that tickets are rather expensive (most of those remaining are nearly £60) I would LOVE to go and see it, as it is starring:

Ronald Pickup

Patrick Stewart

Ian McKellen

Simon Callow

No wonder it's already almost sold out!

Sound Bodies

Although I have caps of the complete episode, for some reason there are only 201 of them, so I cannot complete the selection from my random numbers. In any case, the first two were a bit uninspiring. So I went back and just clicked on any old number that appealed to me.

Even self-appointed rules are made to be broken.

The Full Moon

Anyone who teaches massed children will know that they are definitely affected by nature phenomena - rain, wind, and - the full moon.

There wa a full moon yesterday. My class (usually so well-behaved) were a bit bonkers. Two children hit others in the face. Another pair who spend life winding one another up managed to wind up staff instead.

Now today I did some teaching at my other regular place. I discovered that they'd had a memorable day, too, with an autistic boy flipping out, throwing stuff around, then vandalising some cars.

You parents out there, please tranquillise your children when there's a full moon!

A Murderer Among Us

There are some real goodies today, but still I couldn't resist a couple of bonus shots.

Well, it's so hard to confine myself to just six!

Vincent Week

Gosh, who'd'a thunk it - TWO movies starring himself on UK TV next week.

On Monday 16th at 9pm, Being Human is on TCm again.
On Tuesday 17th at 2.25am (ie. Wednesday morning) Strange Days is on Sci-Fi/Horror.

Stray

The selection needed improving.

So I improved it.

Pravda

I couldn't leave you with just two pictures, could I? So I moved on to Pravda, and guess what? Only a partial album there too!

But Not Forgotten...

...appears to have been forgotten. Or at least partly lost. I have no idea where the bulk of the album is. It doesn't even have a number 19, as there is a chunk missing there. Yet I KNOW I have some very fetching pictures somewhere.

Flushed

I read in the newspaper last week that while nearly 50% of Europeans use recycled toilet paper, only about 10% of Americans do. Maybe these attitudes give a clue as to why:

Certainly, it appears the those in the US think that recycled paper is rougher and less soft than the recycled variety:
Not so! And when you realise that, according to the same research, more damage is done by the processing of virgin wood for toilet and kitchen paper than by the use of Hummers, you will see that for the sake of the planet we all need to turn to recycled as soon as we can.

I remember reading some years ago that Cher never goes anywhere without a supply of Charmin.

Here's what the manufacturers, Procter and Gamble say:

"We do not advertise in the U.S. with an environmental message," Sauers (P&G Vice President)says. That's because P&G doesn't think that its most of its customers care all that much about their environmental impact. But it's a missed opportunity for P&G to raise awareness. P&G is also clear about the fact that its sustainable innovations won't require consumers to pay more or give up anything in terms of quality or convenience. "If you give them everything they want, they will choose sustainability," Sauers says. "But they will not accept a tradeoff."

I don't believe Americans are that shallow (aside from the ones that supported Bush and liked Palin Bush) so I am appealing to you all to switch to recycled toilet and kitchen rolls to do a bit more to help save the planet. Even paper from sustainable forests won't do - it still has to go through the energy-wasting process that is so harmful. Don't be content with doing more damage than Hummer drivers!

The Gift

We may not have 6 closeups, but we DO have the hand holding the little crutch and the squat in the parking garage, so I'm happy.
