Pointless

There's a teatime quiz on TV over here where they ask 100 people to give as many answers to questions as they can in 100 seconds. For example, they might ask them to name European capital cities, or champion tennis players. Anything. The winners are the people who guess the answers that the fewest people thought of, preferably no one at all. Then you have a "Pointless" answer, and in earlier rounds you put an extra £250 in the prize fund, then in the final you need a pointless answer to win.

Today the prize fund was £10,000. The finalists had to choose a category from a selection of three. They chose American actresses. It turned out to be about Cameron Diaz.

They had to name three films of hers (and luckily they did know a few) and hope that one would be Pointless.

I yelled at the screen, but they didn't listen! They didn't win. I would have! Feeling Minnesota was a Pointless answer!

Double Parmi

Eliza mentioned a couple of weeks ago that she hadn't realised that Staten Island had been issued over here. I forgot all about it, till I was hunting for DVDs to show my student today in a shop called Head, that often has DVDs at very good prices.

There it was for just £4. So I bought 2, one for me and one for my friend.

Of course, I have the Region 1 version too...

Can't keep silent

He just makes me squeal.

If I got lucky, he'd make me squeal even more.

I'd like to keep THIS Brother!

Ah, the famous album that uploaded completely randomly.
But every picture a winner.

BBC For All

On occasion, I have posted links to BBC programmes via the iPlayer facility, but because the foreign hordes don't pay a licence fee, no one outside the UK has been able to access it.

This is soon to change (a bit) when iPlayer goes international at some point this year. You won't be able to get every current programme we can, but for a subscription of less than $10 a month you will have access to a selection of the best programmes past and present, specifically tailored to your nation's tastes.

Go Auntie Beeb!

I should have saved the 20/20 post!

Because this is Post 3030!

Instead I dedicate this post to Albert Ross.

Oh, sorry, read that as Albatross!

Oh, bless, look at his collar!

Look at the curls!
