Welcome to the world of the Vincent D'Onofrio obsessed - and a bit of real life thrown in.

Think Good Thoughts

But no prayers, please.

Henry in healthier times

My lovely African grey parrot, Henry, is very poorly. He has a chest infection, and has disquised his illness and weight loss, till last night he just stayed on the floor of his cage. His head was turned to the left, and he had trouble gripping and balancing.

I got an emergency appointment for him this morning at the bird vet's, who was quite concerned. He's had an injection with lots of goodies in it. He's just woken from a sleep and is munching on some seed, but I must persuade him to drink, preferably the honey water I've prepared.

He has to go back on Monday morning, but the vet is at an even more distant surgery - bird vets are few and far between, and get spread thinly - so I've had to cancel a blood test for rheumatism for myself, otherwise I'd miss the annual Vixen convention in London with Eliza, Diane and Ann.

Alpha Dog

At last, I have managed to get some pictures in the right proportions, so here goes.

The Lion and Albert

What with all this talk about lions (and I'm off to show the cubs to my friend tomorrow) I was put in mind of one of my favourite monologues of all time. I was also reminded of it when a recent TV programme featured Blackpool Zoo and it's young male lion called Wallace.

For those who are not familiar with the narrator, Stanley Holloway was a lovely actor and song-and-dance man who recorded a great many monologues. He was Alfred Dolittle in My Fair Lady, and in my opinion was the best thing in it. Just watch "I'm Getting Married in the Morning".

Collective

There are some really great scenes in this, but many of my stills are a bit blurred. When we get the new DVD set, maybe I can put that right.

Cold Comfort

Oh, if only there were an Alzheimer's cure. I could actually forgive Spencer Durning if he hadn't had the Senator's daughter killed.

We all sniff when our noses get cold, but only Vincent makes it part of the (method) act.

I thought Basric might like this one.

I think he did this on purpose to drive us crazy.

A rare sideways butt view.

Oh the innocent look. Oh the shoulders.

Oh the neck.

Oh the lips.

I wish I'd had to brush past him like the actor who produced this reaction.

Oh the hands.

Oh dear. I give up my limits. Let's just keep it to under 10 pictures.

Monkeying about with Lions

I knew that London Zoo had two new Asian lion cubs, but when I was there with my class last month, they were too young to be allowed out. When my neighbour told me on Sunday that she had just been with her grandchildren, and the cubs were out, I knew I would have to go again.

This red ruffed lemur is new. What a handsome creature.

The squirrel monkeys are always enchanting.

The lion cubs are now two months old and full of confidence. This was the first time their father had been allowed to meet them face to face.

Have you ever seen a mother more protective, vigilant, loving and proud?

I recommend watching in full screen.

Chinoiserie

Oh dear. Chinoiserie. How am I supposed to narrow this one down?

Couldn't resist this wrist.

This one's so dreamy.

Had to have the wrist and hand-to-mouth.

This expression and the hair could not be left out.

Well, we all do love the tongue.

Even if you don't like the disgust on his face, who'd want to miss the arms and shoulders?

As for the slideshows, there are two of my favourites in this album.

Gods are immortal

Our Vincent is one such.

Goddesses are also immortal, and we all know Eliza is Goddess of D'Onofriodom

Happy Birthday Eliza.

I'm happy to be your birthday chauffeur, Eliza.

Welcome to my home.

Now let's get down to business!

Cherry Red

Here we are then, my new limit of four pictures. Plus two.
Well, it is Cherry Red.

Nearly forgot the slideshows.

Then there are the hands.

Finally, let's not forget the Goren Groin.

But Not Forgotten...

OK, I give in, I'm upping the number to 4, as that seems to be the minimum, even for a limited album like this (ie. I don't have the hand-holding scene).

Lean closer, baby.

Show us what those muscles can do.

Not to mention...

Shoulders and lashes, to name but two
