The rougher finish of the earlier seasons adds an air of untameable masculinity. I know he doesn't really need anything extra to make him the ultimate male hunk, but somehow it's more fitting for him to have stubble than to be smooth and silky.
Whether in LOCI or elsewhere the boy looks magnificent with a day or two's growth. I'd ask all your opinions but I think I know them already...

I love both rough and smooth... but must admit a special fondness for the stubble. Untameably masculine Bobby sure works for me!
I love him no matter how he looks. But my mom cannot stand the stubble (she doesn't like him either).
