Ghost?

Last night I had quite a restless night, first too hot, then too cold. I was lying on my left side with the duvet bunched up around me, not asleep, but not particularly alert either. I felt someone lie down behind me, sort of "spooning". You can bet I was alert now.

An arm went across my body and a hand twice squeezed my right boob. I held my breath. Why hadn't I heard someone come in? Why hadn't I felt them walk around the bed through the narrow gap at the foot?

Because there was no-one there.

Ah yes. Visited by "the blanket people" eh? That's what Brian and I call them. We saw a documentary about that phenomena. It happens when you get stuck between falling asleep and REM sleep/dreaming. Your body is paralyzed like it is in REM, but you are still somewhat conscious, and that's when the mind starts playing tricks on you. Brian will be convinced that someone's pulling the covers off him, or laying next to him. I've had it happen to me too but not as often. It's scary as hell.

spooky Val, or was it purely wishful thinking? You must have been having a Bobby Bobby dream... that's how we sleep!

jojo: are you talking about sleep paralysis... that is scary as hell and very very creepy

I've had that happen to me. It feels like someone is on top of me holding me down...It's horrible

That's just creepy as hell. I have had sleep paralysis off and on for years, but it's not like that (it is more like what Tess described). I'm more inclined to agree with Ann -you are just wish-dreaming of Bobby. :)

Are you sure you weren't just 'dreaming Vincent' ;0)

I've heard of this phenomenon, but have only experienced it as an adult one time. I was convinced, after it happened, that it was my uncle visiting me. I found out, a couple of hours after I experienced "someone sitting on the edge of my bed (and the room suddenly became ice cold)," that my uncle had just died a couple of hours earlier. I'm sure it was just coincidence . . . but then . . . hmmmm. At any rate, if you feel "threatened" when this happens, it is definitely Nicole Wallace. If you feel warm and fuzzy, it's Vincent sending his positive energy into your soul . . . and into your dreams . . .okay, I'm nuts. LOL

At least you were visited by a someone, not a something...I have a ghost cat.I'm convinced it's an old cat we had,you can feel him jump onto the bed, then he walks up me until he settles on my chest. He was the only cat we ever allowed in our room, and he used to sleep on my chest, when he wasn't sucking my ear :-)

You know, Eliza, one of my cats used to visit me, too. So did each of my parents after they died (obviously not before!) It's an eery feeling.
