Football player Tony "Olee" Olezniak is the toast of his club and the fans, when a tackle causes a freak injury to his spine which blinds him. Some months later he has the TV on when his ex-girlfriend is talking about her book - soon to be a film - about her life with the fallen star, and she admits that he's become impotent. He throws the TV out of the window, followed by most of his furniture, including the sofa, and it all lands on a guy's car.
Olee ends up in jail and refuses to be bailed out. An old friend (now in a wheelchair) wants him to take part in a white water raft race, to prove "gimps" can do it, and walk away with the prize money. Thus it turns into a buddy-cum-road movie.
They go crabbing; Olee wins at blackjack; he gets laid; they are refused entry to the race; find allies; win a football challenge to get into the race; they come last!
It's funny and sweet, and Vincent is DELICIOUS. He unfocuses his eyes to make himself look blind. It's a real tour de force. One of my favourite V-movies.
Because I haven't yet found a way to reverse the order of the images, they go from bottom to top.
