Welcome to the world of the Vincent D'Onofrio obsessed - and a bit of real life thrown in.

Athabasca

Those of you who were around in 2006 will remember my family reunion in Alberta, Canada. I took my camcorder all the way, but only used it once. These are some of the previously unseen stills I made from the film.

The daughter of the house, Leah, on the treadmill. She's an opera singer.

My cousins Linda and Joyce.

Cousin Lorna.

After she had pointed out that it was nearly midday and they were still in their nightwear,
Linda tried to crawl past the camera unseen.

Then Leah told her the truth!

This film was made after most of the family had gone back home. There were 117 of them! Sadly, there hasn't been another reunion since, though I suppose I should be glad, as I don't think I could have made it.

Pardon?

Again, not a favourite, though it was nice to meet Lewis. And we do get to see Bobby in a bulletproof vest twice. Not to mention lots of examples of his humanity.

Not sure why the perp was so insistent on his son going to his mother when he "knew what went on in those places" (ie. children's homes/foster care). Given the mess he's in, she couldn't have done him much good.

I wanted to punch Carver, and the slimeballs at City Hall.

Did someone mention Poison?

Actually, it's not a favourite of mine, mostly because I dislike the spoilt, selfish perp. (I know that means good acting, but I can't help it!)

But the main thing is BOBBY'S IN IT! (Not to mention his groin...)

I have a Quest-ion

You know how it looks when you play a normal-sized video or programme in widescreen? The people look shorter and wider, sort of squashed down.

Well, the widescreen broadcasting of Season 1 on Quest has gone off in this episode. The people look taller and skinnier - just as they would if you showed a widescreen programme on a traditional TV screen. Anyone know how that happens?

Luckily my pictures were taken from the DVDs which have NO widescreen facility, just the old-fashioned screen size.

Best Ever?

Just watched Jones courtesy of Quest. No wonder it's an all-time favourite of so many. Here are slideshows of just two of the classic moments:

Quest for Season 1

When the TV channel Quest started up last year, it showed Season 1 of LOCI. It was a Freeview channel, and it still is up to about midnight. Unfortunately for my V-loving friend, it is now cable and satellite only after midnight, and she has neither. She did spot that they are repeating Season 1 at 2am.

I missed Episodes 1 and 2, but I just watched Smothered, and it's great to see early Bobby again. Universal Channel take note!

I still wonder about the plot however. G/E find a silver plate engraved with the name of Lance Van Acker (shipping and airlines, ie. filthy rich) and trace his daughter Priscilla, but when she throws in her red herring about her late husband's will, he seems to have put conditions on the inheritance. Plus the son is called Van Acker too. So by rights, Lance should be Priscilla's father-in-law.

All logic flies out of the window, however, when watching the first appearance of the BTSOH! And it's showing in widescreen.

I love Eames' exression when Goren takes her "killed by a shark" quip seriously.
