I can't resist pictures which show Vincent's size. It's the thing that first turned me on to him and I am not ashamed to admit that it inspired my lust.
This is a beautiful medieval manor house in Kent, England. It has been a family home all that time, including for the Astor family, and was passed to the National Trust about 20 years ago. It needed a lot of restoration because it was in a bad way, but they restored the interior as it had been the last time it was lived in. There's a gorgeous Tudor chapel and some half-timbered cottages in the lovely grounds. In the fourth picture down, on the right, you can see the enormous dog kennel. No enormous dog, though.
The restoration took more than 10 years and cost about £10 million, but worth every penny, in my opinion.
The Human Chameleon strikes again. These superficially similar pictures show just how different Vincent can make himself look by the power of his acting. Same profile, different person.
I've belonged to quite a few opera groups in my time. This was the last one. It folded in 2000 thanks to a crummy musical director. We had some great times.
The picture is of an Edwardian Evening we did as a fundraiser. The lady in the background, a lifelong non-smoker, died of lung cancer. We think it was because she used to sing in smokey clubs.
