Alas Smith

New Year 1971, I'd just broken up with the boyfriend with whom I'd "lost my cherry". Sitting at home feeling sorry for myself, I heard on the news that one of my favourite actors, Pete Duel, Hannibal Heyes in Alias Smith and Jones, had committed suicide. My tears were for both of us. What a lovely smile we lost that day.
