A message from the insane asylum

It's official - I have gone mad!

Today my internet connection wasn't working. So I phoned the Orange helpline (second time this week, the last one was to sort out the connection to my new computer). Last time I was on of nearly half an hour, this time for over an hour. With a charming gentleman who unfortunately had a very strong Indian accent which I found difficult (and I'm really good with accents), so others probably would find impenetrable, I went through every imaginable setting, restarted the computer a couple of times, and removed then reinstalled the software. Finally I've managed to get online. I wonder if that would have worked first time without the expensive call? Well at elast I know what to try next time.

I only had 3,000,000,000,000,000,000 things to do today, so the loss of about an hour and a half in total won't make much difference, will it?

Oh Dear!

While I was at a concert at university in Lancaster in the 1970s, I was approached by a rather handsome young man with long, wavy blond locks. He was a year my junior. He looked as if he could have been one of the Walker Brothers. He introduced himself as Tom Levitt, and asked me out. I referred him to my fiance...

We remained friends, but lost touch after we graduated.

In 1997 the alumni magazine ran an article on ex-Lancaster students who'd just been elected as MPs in the new Labour government. There was Tom - but as you can see from the photo, the lovely locks had gone.

I wrote to him, and that October I went for lunch with him at the Houses of Parliament. It was a great insight into how those who rule us live - quiet luxury in hallowed halls.

Flattery will get you anywhere.

Anyone else surprised at how clever Bobby seems to succumb to evil Nicole's charms?

Men! You weren't looking properly, Bobby! Eliza was there - and she would have alerted the rest of the Vixens, who would have taken about two minutes' chasing. You would have had the time of your life in Oxford. And we would have spoiled you for someone like Nicole forever.

OK, so there's this really cool way to transfer your old computer's stuff on to your new one, and the cable and disc cost £30. Only problem - it stalls. Then you try it with a flach drive or cds, and it still doesn't work. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Well, that worked, didn't it?

I emailed my newly-saved pictures from my own Season 4 DVDs to myself, so that I could upload them to Photobucket from my old computer, then post them here. Except apparently I only emailed one (still took about 5 minutes to download, though).

So here it is. Not as crisp and clear as my usual offerings because home-made DVDs are harder to freezepframe, but it's all there is for now.

First post from my new computer

I found these on a Spanish language site by going to Yahoo instead of Google. I don't think I've seen them before.



My own DVDs play on the new computer. I managed to download a trial version of my favourite DVD player, but it's new and improved, and therefore not as good as the old one. Now all I have to do is remember how I managed to get my photos to publish in bulk to Photobucket. Eliza gave me instructions on my old computer, but my mind has gone blank since.

Hooray!

This is my first post from my new computer. I haven't yet checked whether it will play my own LOCI DVDs, but I thought I'd post some Guy pictures as a celebration. Of course, Photobucket wouldn't show me which slideshow I was pasting, so this is a lucky dip.
