Today I was planning to take my friend to Lullingstone Roman Villa in Kent, not too many miles from where I live. Unfortunately she had to cancel. It annoys me, but I shouldn't let it. She has a long journey by public transport to get here (though it's true that if we go anywhere I do the driving) and though I don't often cancel, I bet I would if I had to catch two or three trains to meet up with her. This time it was not a migraine, but a fall. I bought her mother a step-stool for her birthday so she wouldn't be tempted to clamber up on to chairs and risk injury. No, my friend has done that instead!

I wasn't sure what I was going to do instead. Eventually, halfway through the afternoon, I decided to go to Bromley to do some shopping. One of the shops I visited was Swarovski. It's been ages since I bought anything there. Their selection seems to have become so bland in the past few years. But today I spotted this ring, with a butterfly and a ladybird on it.

The butterfly wings are on a little ring and move around. I'm sure it will be a pain at times, but it was too cute to leave behind, and not nearly as expensive as most of their other stuff. For a change, they even had my size!
