Thanks to the Ebay Troll

There's a troll on Ebay who's selling other people's screencaps. She steals them from blogs and websites. Some are clearly watermarked and she doesn't even have the intelligence to crop that off. I think some are mine, but as I don't watermark, I can't tell for sure. I have no desire to make money from my pictures, I want everyone to be able to enjoy them FREELY. But I would like to know if someone else tries to make money out of my hard work and VIncent-love. So here's my first attempt at watermarking a set of pictures. I have no idea how it got to look like this, but I'll probably try to do a few different things before I decide on a final version.

Looks good Val! Hopefully now that more people are finding out about this troll, they won't buy what she's stolen.

I like it. I'm glad you did it too Val, b/c you have a lot of caps out there.

People like this woman make me SICK. Stealing from other fans and bloggers is bad enough, but it's a copyright violation too b/c the images are owned by the L&O franchise. You can give them away but you can't sell them.

SO SORRY VAL!he is so SWEAT and CUTE here!
on the brigth side,I want to cheer you up!i have one silly question for you!

What worries me is, NBC copyrighted pix are also being sold over there. If the Corporate Big-Boys ever find out, that may be the end of being able to download 'free' photos forever. Drives me nuts when an inconsiderate few can, and occasionally do, ruin it for everyone.

Pix are looking good, as always Val.

Looking good Val :-)

I tried to explain about copyright to this person, but I don't think it got through.I give pictures away freely because I don't own the copyright,so for me to sell them would be illegal. If I can understand that,so can everyone else,or so you'd think.Watermarks just show who exactly made the effort to cap the pictures in the first place.Oh,and they insure that if other people use them, you get some credit, which is a nice bonus :-)

I think it's sad when the pics
have to be watermarked... I
honestly don't like to see it,
but yours don't look at all
intrusive... I know you never
wanted to have to do it

guess until she is caught and
stopped, she is laughing all
the way to the bank

I can't even imagine this kind of theft being all that profitable. Whatever. Oh, and that next-to-last pic you posted . . . I fell off my chair. WOW!!!!!!!

Dear Ladies-
I think there is only one solution to the problem of all of us and one of Vincent-we have to pool our money together and donate to scientist who are working are cloning human beings and make Vincent the first one they clone-
Sounds good-

I'm surprised she isn't getting sued by the film/tv people or Vincent for trying to sell those pictures. How can she get away with it? With all the great caps out there by val & eliza for free, who would buy those pics anyway?

Very nice watermark Val - you hardly notice it at all.
I just hate that you - or Eliza or anyone else - had to do it. Some people just have to spoil the fun, I guess.

Thank you for all your great work and for sharing it with all of us - YOU are invaluable and priceless.
