Here's my challenge to you all. I'd like you to tell us all on your blogs (or in the comments here if you don't have a blog) what your best namedrop is. It can be direct or, like mine, by association.

One of my ex-students married her (much older) university lecturer, who was at Oxford with Bill Clinton.
Over to you.

One of my student's little sisters was in the episode of LOCI titled "Siren Call". Her scenes were cut in the final version that made it to TV but her painted image is in the program. She played Brooke Shields' younger daughter, Piper.
Actually I have several name drops...I'll do them on my blog.
Just about the only one I can think of is Colin Dexter, the Inspector Morse author. We see him fairly regularly as he uses the bus, which is always a surprise :)
Oh,and years ago I passed Douglas Hurd at a service station!

Good one, Linda.
Eliza, you just reminded me, I once saw Douglas Hurd (the dead sheep...) at English National Opera. He walked past me in the Dress Circle, and almost barged me over the edge into the stalls. Mind you, it was after the second election the tories won, and I was wearing a badge which said, "Don't blame me, I voted Labour".
