It pays to listen

Next week I'm supposed to have surgery to fix up my reduced but scarred boobs.

The procedure involves surgeons from two different hospitals. They decided to operate at one because it already had a piece of equipment they needed. The letter I received was for the other.

If I hadn't paid attention at the consult, I might have turned up at the wrong place at the wrong time, because I'm the only person who noticed the mistake.

So glad I'm attentive.

  1. Yeah you have to be careful to re-read stuff. Glad you are getting it taken care of!

  2. Good Luck, Val. I hope the end result is worth all this "stuff" afterwards.

Given that for me to order a white coat for someone who works for the NHS, I have to search the order site with the letters 'B A K' (gee, why didn't I think of that before spending 2 hours going through 3224 entries for NHS clothing?!) I'm not at all surprised you got a 'wrong' letter. Best of luck with the surgery!

  5. Not just a wrong letter, Diane, I was booked into the wrong hospital! Thanks to my alertness, it's all been put right...I think. Still awaiting the "proper" letter.
