I'm sure no one thought I was exaggerating when said I was going to have a bandage like a boxing glove on my hand after my operation. I'd hoped the nurse was exaggerating, but sadly she wasn't:
The biggest problem was the wait before the op, because the surgeon was caught up in another theatre. I finished my book, and was dreading getting bored, but of course a waiting room full of women found plenty to talk about.
I'm feeling a bit bruised and sore, and of course I'm overdoing it. I can't help wondering what it will all look like when I take this monstrosity off tomorrow afternoon.
I assume you're in for a few weeks of post-op physical therapy?
ReplyDelete' and of course I'm overdoing it'...I wouldn't have expected anything less...just remember that taking it easy can be healing too!!
ReplyDeleteLots of luck with your recovery x
Eliza, when you can't do up (or undo) a bra, or adjust your knickers for peeing, without straining the operated hand (rather then just "using" it) you just have to overdo it!
ReplyDeleteJoJo, it's just a tiny incision (as far as I know) and the physical therapy will involve squeezing a ball and rubbing lotion into the scar.
Oh that's not too bad at all! :)
ReplyDeleteHehe you said knickers... Speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteHope it's ok. soon...
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, and follow the PT's orders.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that looks painful. I'm surprised you're still blogging.
ReplyDeleteRepeat after me: it's worth it in the end, it's worth it in the end.....
ReplyDeleteIt is worth it in the end!! And yeah, doing the "behind' duties is a struggle. Gee, I had to leave my bandage on for about 8 days before they took them off! They looked just like that. Are you going to have both done or just the one?
ReplyDeleteI'll get the other one done, Sandy, but not just yet. It's not as severe.
ReplyDeleteIt looks worse than it seems - I hope. Get Well Soon. Cheers!!
