"Great Expectation" has always been my favorite. For all the rest I either watched the movie or read the "Cliff Notes". Had to get through high school english some how.
Love "Oliver" the musical. I live on a square(a park). Some mornings its just so beautiful, it reminds me of Oliver and I'll skip down my steps singing "Who will Buy". Probably why nobody ever bothers me. Never read the novel. LOL
Happy Birthday Charlie! Cheers Val!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, I've read Dickens and it's always been a stuggle. A Christmas Carol was the only easy read. But happy birthday to Charlie!
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't look a day over 199.
ReplyDeleteI think the only book of his I ever managed to get through was 'Dombey and Son'... OK, now you're going to tell me that's not one of his ;0)
ReplyDeleteCourse it is, Diane, and you're one up on me, I don't think I've ever read one cover to cover!

ReplyDeleteI escaped, Vikeau, my set books were a couple of Shakespeares, some Chaucer, some Byron, and Under Milk Wood. No Dickens in sight.
ReplyDeletesixtwosue: hehehehehe!!
ReplyDeleteI've never understood the attraction of Dickens, his books are a struggle for me so I don't bother with them anymore
