Cadaver 1 - The Shrink

You'd think that Bobby of all people would realise that shrinks don't provide answers, they ask questions that are supposed to help you come up with the answers yourself.

Meanwhile he seems to have developed a full-blown case of transference:

  1. I thought last nights episode was Wonderful! But I don't think Bobby has feelings for his shrink at all.

I think he's just realised he's being 'played' and that shrink lady is no better than ol' Heart-in-a-box, without the homicidal tendencies (we hope!).

  3. At last someone who understands the relationship between Doctor and Patient. There is no way she can put things into his head. She'd get into trouble if he did something wrong and his defence was 'But the Doctor said....'
Also he knows his 'failings' and lives with them quite happily. I think he 'staged' the row so he could stop going. He's probably finding it all a waste of his time.
Some things in life are best left alone and not dug to deep into.
His past life can't be canceled out or 'fixed' you just make whats ahead of you better and as far as he's concerned with his work etc. he has, you really don't want some middle-class woman (who no doubt has a wonderful life) telling you that really your life is crap. I now think the whole Srink bit is very silly.

  4. Maybe I'm repressed myself, but I don't like exploring other peoples emotions, even in fiction, and watching the shrink scenes make me uncomfortable..this time was the worst so far

  5. That was the best part of the episode.

  6. I also thought the shrink scene was the best part of the whole episode. I think Bobby doesn't like being scrutinized like he scrutinizes others.

I rather am enjoying those almost more than the case files for the most part. And most of the case files have been pretty good.

Cadaver left me with mixed feelings - the case file. I'm kind of stereo-typical 'tiger moms.' Just because one over-the-top Asian mom writes a book...

  7. I don't think Bobby is feeling any transference either. I also think he blew up because he didn't want to go back. There's something in his life (probably A LOT of stuff) he doesn't want to revisit.

  8. I agree with you. I used the word "crush" on The Valentine Cat but it wasn't correct. "Transference" is the word I had to use.

  9. I am loving the shrink scenes! I agree, Bobby is wonderful at misdirection and aviodance, and that's what he did so he could leave her office. However, I actually think Bobby needs a shrink, NOT to 'fix' his past, no one can ever do that. And not to dwell on his past, but to guide him to a positive future for himself. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to revisit the past to understand why you are where you are and how the hell to get out of there to a place you want to be.
