I have been tempted by the idea of an iPad for ages. I just LOVE gadgets.
My justification is that I can get apps to use for my student - music, lights, colours, all sorts of sensory stuff. They don't do educational discounts yet, but as I teach him on behalf of a hospital school, I managed to get the National Health Service discount (a whopping 2%!!!)
I was actually going to post this from the iPad, but it won't let me type in the text box...
So much for blogging on the move. Better stick with this computer and its dongle for mobile blogging!

ReplyDeleteI just about coped with an I-pod touch, but the whole touch-screen thing scares me a little. I'm clumsy and can just see me breaking it
I had the opportunity to demonstrate the Samsung Galaxy Tablet at Best Buy over Christmas...it's much like the iPad but has more features...can be used as a phone. The apps were fun too. There was one where you could test your heart rate by putting your index finger over the camera lens that had a metal casing. Another was a barcode scanner that you could use to scan a product and compare prices online. The only thing is, I just saw a segment on TV about apps and how a lot of them share your personal information to marketing companies...your name, phone number and other such information. They "track" your movements.
