What sound does a giraffe make?

This was the question someone posed in the Notes and Queries section of The Guardian newspaper last week.

This week the answer came - none! They are the only animal that has no vocal cords!

I never knew that.

  2. Wow! I didn't know that, either. I knew they were quiet, but I always assumed that they could make some kind of a noise ... maybe something akin to a horse. LOL

  3. Hmm. Very interesting. I guess they would need to be hyper-vigilant.
