Despite the fog warnings all along the A2/M2, today turned out to be extremely dry and sunny - though cold.
I decided last night when I checked the weather forecast that today would be the day that I used up my free entry ticket for the Aspinall Foundation parks, and I drove down to Howletts, near Canterbury. (I think I'd better go to the cathedral city one day and do a post on that.)
The biggest tiger ever since the sabre tooth was here. His name was Balkash. His son Malchek is the a chip off the old block. Actually, he's a block off the old block. A keeper once told me he is actually bigger than his late giant-sized dad. After today I can well believe it. As he walked past the viewing window the first time I was gobsmacked.
Very cool! What big kitties! The video got stuck at 2:22 and wouldn't play for me after that. We've been having lots of trouble w/ You Tube hanging up in the middle of videos and taking forever to keep playing.
ReplyDeleteThe cub was so cute; it was like he got mad at his giant ice cube for rolling away, and sat w/ his back to it.
Yes, please post about Canterbury!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a sunny day. The elephant baby looks way to cute; but I just adore the big boy!
Pretty kitties!

ReplyDeleteI like the daddy, but that cub with his 'toy' was wonderful
If they tigers ever need a new home, they can come live with me! Although I may have to get a bigger place...
