Another V-treat for us all - and no need for anything more than Freeview. On Sunday night at 1.05am (so technically Monday, then) The Player is on Film4. The Radio Times has given it 5 stars. Imagine, a Vincent film with 5 stars.
Not a film I'd go that crazy about - wouldn't even watch it if Vincent were not in it.
Thanks to Eliza for the picture. This is another one I haven't capped.
Just popping in for a quick hello.
ReplyDeleteI've not been round much of late and this may continue for a while but I just wanted to see how you are and let you know that I haven't forgotten you:)
I just watch the "V" parts....LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah, I bailed after Vincent's untimely demise.
ReplyDeleteI think Vincent did this film because he wanted to work with Altman. I would say he was miscast, but he did such a wonderful job portraying this character that I could not bring myself to make that statement. The big problem I had was trying to "believe" that Tim Robbins could have overpowered him physically and murdered him. Kinda strange, given our guy is 6 foot 4 inches and quite "the man." Hee.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, rub in it for us here in the US. At least you get his movies. Why do they ignore his movies here?
ReplyDeleteSee, I quite liked this movie; except for the appalling way Vincent er....'made his exit' (again!!!!) and the fact I wanted to beat Tim Robbins to death with a baseball bat....
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand this film..or rather I don't understand how it can go on for so long and be so boring. I watched it once all the way through and that was enough
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit it but, I think Mr. D was miscast......HE should have played the Tim Robbins part.
ReplyDeleteYes, Fuzzy, that sure would have made the film much more watchable! LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah, I bailed after Vincent's untimely demise.
