Trapped in a Nightmare

Was he fathered by a serial killer, who later raped his mother, a rape which precipitated his her schizophrenia? Is this why his mother always showed preference to his brother? It must be tearing Bobby apart.

The Best-Laid Plans?

Actually I had no plans at all. It was a glorious day, I had done all I had to, relaxed for a while in the garden, then when a few clouds came over and the wind whipped up, I decided to get on to the computer early. It was just after 4.30pm. I had finished editing some LOCI episodes and they were saving on to a DVD.

The phone went. (The next bit will amaze the British Vixens). It was the doctor I saw on Wednesday. (This will amaze them even more). My blood tests were back - after just 2 days! My white count is up so I am definitely fighting an infection without knowing it - apart from the seized up joints and muscles, which have been controlled by the anti-inflammatories. She would leave me an anti-biotic prescription at reception.

I waited for the recording to finish, then leapt into my car, collected the prescription and went to the pharmacy in a supermarket with a car park (US Vixens, high street stores DON'T have car parks, nor even pharmacies). Then headed back home, arriving just before 6pm. Decided to take in the washing from the line, heard the phone, which stopped as I reached it. Dialled 1471 (the British way to find out the last caller) and found it was my cousin Percy. Called him back and had a chat for about 20 minutes about tomorrow's events. Prepared a quick meal of avocado with blue cheese dressing and fresh fruit salad (strawberries, cherries and water melon), and a shop-bought clotted cream rice pudding (yum). Finally got on the computer at 6.30 while still eating.

Now I really want some chocolate, and it's in the fridge downstairs and I'm upstairs. How long will I manage to resist?

A Mini-Reunion

On Saturday my cousin Don (seen here with cousin Lisa) and his wife Terry (pictures below with Betty) arrives from Canada for a European tour. Cousins Percy, Freddie and Barbara, along with their spouses, will meet Don for the first time at his hotel.

Don is a retired cop who was then a PI. He has a blog at street-pix.blogspot.com where he posts pictures he takes in his perambulations round his home town of Vancouver.

So I might be missing again over the weekend. But I'll be thinking of you! And we have Friday to come before then.

Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow

In other words, on Tuesday I signed off feeling poorly, saying I'd see you tomorrow (ie. yesterday) but I felt so ill that I coudn't log on, so here I am today.

All of a sudden on Tuesday every muscle and joint seemed to stiffen and ache. I saw the doctor on Wednesday morning, who had no idea what it was either. She prescribed some anti-inflammatories (which have helped quite a lot) and took a blood test. I couldn't work yesterday or today, which means no pay, so I spent some money on dvds of you-know-who this morning...(thanks to Diane for the info). Well, you have to cheer yourself up somehow, don't you?

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. It may only have been a day but it feels like more.

Bobby In Crisis

They put Bobby through the wringer, and it showed, so we all got put through every emotion with him.

I defy anyone to out-act the multi-talented Vincent D'Onofrio.

Not Fair

It's not fair that I've not seen Endgame yet.

It's not fair that I suddenly ache in every muscle and feel like shit. I thought I was recovering from a migraine, but apparently not.

For the UK Vixens, The Player is on Film 4 at 1.25am on Monday night (going into Tuesday morning) on 21st May.

I can't even leave you with an old slideshow 'cos Photobucket isn't letting me on.

See you tomorrow, all being well.

Remember the horse in Chinoiserie? Well at the Dolls' House Fair I found one in 12th scale (1 inch to 1 foot) and of course I had to buy this exquisite piece that's barely an inch high and a little more than an inch long. It's a wonderful bit of workmanship by a man called Neil Carter. Here it is pictured next to a £1 coin

Eye Candy

Once again, watching an old episode (this time Sandeh) I discovered how incredibly hot Vincent was in Season 2. So here's a selection of shoulders, back, hands, eyes and lips to lighten a dull Sunday. (Not to mention a smidgen of groin for good measure...)
