I just used the Feedback button on the USA site to email them a request for our old theme tune back. I heaped praise on the show and them first, 'cos I want them to know how much we appreciate what they are doing.
It insists on having your state, and of course I don't have one, so I chose New York. I did tell them I lied, though. I suppose it would be better coming from people who actually watch the channel live, so all you US Vixens, please lend some support to the cause.
Can't say for sure, but I have a feeling it's the producers that choose the music. It was Warren Leight who decided to get rid of the 'doink doink'.
ReplyDeletejust saw the new theme and i really don't understand what was wrong with the old one...
ReplyDeleteI know I'm in the minority here, but I LOVE the new opening and theme! High energy . . . high drama!
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't watch the new CI. I won't watch the new ones until I've watched all the old ones. I'm also doing that with "House, M.D." (I just bought the second season).
ReplyDeleteI just put some pictures of Vincent on my wall today. I put them on the wall next to my bed, close to my head (it rhymes!). What a way to fall asleep.
Wish I could help you with the USA thing, but I don't know anything about this new theme/old theme thing. Nice choice pretending to be from New York, though.
I think that Dick Wolf is dedicated to keeping Mike Post employed and busy. Perhaps they've got a little love affair going?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hear you about the theme, dear ... it seems an unnecessary change. We KNOW the show has a new home. But you can't fight City Hall.
I'm joining Snarkangel in the minority. I quite LIKED the new music - beats that doggie do-do one Channel 5 in the UK use hands down! - but I wish they'd made some nice new pictures to go with it; and at least the 'old' theme was still in the funky new one somewhere.....
ReplyDeleteBB - you can fight City Hall. I also think we could make our feelings known and someone somehwere might listen at this stage.
ReplyDeleteI know all the L&O shows have the same theme tune, but it's the arrangment that's important. The bluesy one suited Bobby's steady progress towards the solution to the crime.
I'm with Snarkangel and Diane and that minority who kinda like the new theme. I liked the high energy. I was expecting the same theme that I've heard -- oh -- about a gabillion times now, so was unexpectedly pleased. Don't mean to ruffle feathers...I just liked it.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I'm w/ Snarkangel, Diane and BobbyG, I liked it. I thought it set the tone for a more edgy, "modern" show.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the point of changing the theme, after all it's worked fine for the last 6 years!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not changing my ringtone either :-)
Quite right Eliza, my (only newly accquired) ringtone is staying right where it is too ;0)
ReplyDeleteI love the new theme. I use the L&O-Prime theme as my cel phone ring tone. Wasn't able to get L&O: CI.
