Stunt Hands!

There's no way these hands could belong to the D'Evine one - just look at those short, stubby thumbs, which are straight and rigid like mine, not long and curvy like HIS.

DO THEY THINK WE ARE BLIND, STUPID OR BOTH?!

  1. I agree. Why use "stunt" hands when, in fact, if he wanted to, Vincent could do NOTHING BUT hand modeling and probably make a killing? Of course, I realize these scenes are edited in later (Vincent is far too busy to stick around for close-ups of paperwork and hands), but is it really that difficult to find hands that even RESEMBLE those of VDO? Well, apparently so . . .

  2. To be honest, if they thought about it before they started filming, they could get a camera in the right place to shoot the hands themselves. They manage it sometimes, like with the Van Gogh book in See Me (though Diane, didn't you think they might not be the real thing, either?)

  4. There is NO WAY that those are Vincent's hands. I bet anything they get those tight shots later on and edit them in, and Vincent's not even around when they do it, "just use any old hand". AS IF we wouldn't notice!

The thing is, our Vincent has almost instantly identifiable lilly-white, baby-soft hands, with very long, slender fingers *swoons at the thought* and sometimes, the close ups are clearly of someone elses far less attractive paws - and there was one in S6 that was a terrible looking claw!
I'm still not sure about the Van Gogh ones. At least in 'Happy Accidents' they found someone with an approximation of his Divine Digits.
Since he has SUCH distinctive hands, maybe they should just ask him to stick around for the close ups, or do them with another camera on the same shot!

  8. OK,I'll concede the point on this one,but only because I'm forced to!

I don't see why they can't figure out if they want close-ups while they're actually filming the scene, but I suppose sometimes things go wrong and this is the only option :-(

  9. Michael, I really tried to be nice in my comments on your blog - till you implied my driving might be crap. Please remember when things go to the next level - you started this conflict. AND YOU WILL LOSE, JUST LIKE LAST TIME! :)

Pauline, thank you for your support. Your brother has not benefited from having sisters, has he?
