A Tale of Two Teddies

I went to a dolls house fair today. The venue is stunning - Alexandra Palace, a Victorian edifice that did service as an early home to TV broadcasts. It's been devastated by a couple of fires and rebuilt. It stands atop a very high hill with spectacular views over London.

The view from the palace in Alexandra Palace Park .

One end of the Great Hall has a rose window, just like a cathedral.

Some parts fo the building look a bit the worse for wear.

During the First World War German enemy aliens were interned at Ally Pally, as it's known, and the Anglo-German Family History Society (of which I'm a member) has had a plaque erected in memory of the event.

The dolls house fair was way below its usual level, but luckily they run it in conjunction with a teddy bear fair, and it was there that I found these cuties. They are alpaca rather than the usual mohair, and are so soft that you can't resist stroking them. When you pick them up, they slip out of your hand.

Any suggestions for names for my two softies?

  1. Well, one of them should be named Vincent, of course!

Maybe the other can be Bobby, or Sam, or Bob, or Whitney... ???

They are beautiful Val - and such lovely pictures!
