Welcome to the world of the Vincent D'Onofrio obsessed - and a bit of real life thrown in.

Long Tall Bobby

I just spent hours capping then uploading A Murderer Among Us, and now I've run out of time to do anything much with it!

A P**s-up in a Brewery

It seems that none of our providers is capable of organising one of these. Last night we had The Afternoon Plane, the episode of Miami Vice that Vincent was in. There was I, poised, DVD and video recorders recording merrily away. And the screen remained black. For several minutes, till someone decided to switch the channel on. (It was the 6pm opening programme for the channel).

It may have been ITV4 itself, or it may have been NTL, the cable company. There was no opening preamble welcoming you to the station, and there was probably an explanatory opening scene that had already happened when they were kind enough to allow us to watch.

Then on Google Alerts today, I noticed that The Player had shown last night at 9pm on Film4. If only somehow they could alert us before these things happen, not after they've already taken place.
Don't know where the double image came from, but it looks FINE!

What is there to see in Catford?

Catford is just up the road from me. It is part of the London Borough of Lewisham, where I live. The name is probably from a ford in the River Ravensbourne where cattle could cross. Many people prefer to think it was named for a colony of cats, hence...

The giant cat over the entrance to the shopping area.

There's a large theatre, originally named after Catford Town Hall of which it forms a non-attached part. Then it was known as Lewisham Theatre.

Now, after a refurbishment, it's been rather pretentiously called The Broadway Theatre - though in fairness, it does actually stand in Catford Broadway. I once sang here (when it was Lewisham Theatre) - we performed Massenet's opera "Manon". There were more people in the cast than in the audience.

This is a picture of Catford Dog Track when it had been allowed to become derelict. I believe they are going to build on the site - they may already have started. It used to be a great place for a night out if you hired the hospitality suite for a function. I even went there once (only once, mind).

Lucky for cable users in the UK

Last night I noticed that the adverts for Movies 24 now has channel numbers - for the original Sky channel, and also for NTL, the cable provider. This means that those of us with cable will be able to watch and record That Championship Season on Christmas Day.

HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckier and Luckier

Well, it looks like my correspondant, who had just experienced an unfortunate break-up, was necking with the man all evening, but wouldn't go back to his place! (Screams and cries in frustrated jealousy). She is going to ask him if he minds her passing on the pictures for blog publication. I have asked her to invite him to look at some of the blogs, and maybe email me. IN ALL OUR INTERESTS!!! I would be happy to host a question-and-answer session with him on your behalf.

Not to mention on my own behalf.

An Ebay Bargain

I decided that my love for gadgets would only be assuaged if I had a SatNav system, so I bid for one on Ebay. This model is in the shops at about £285 but cost me only £165 (though I still have to pay £70 for a traffic pack to pick up the latest travel news, it doesn't come as standard, and of course they are out of stock).

So what am I going to use it for? Who cares? It's fun!

Eliza Strikes Again

I asked Eliza to tell me how she got to post loads of pictures by clicking on the boxes on Photobucket, and she did. I kind of lost count, so be prepared for a LOT.

Ah. Haven't come out very big, have they? Eliza! Help!
