An Embarrassment of Riches

There are just so many gorgeous pictures in The PIlgrim, it's hard not to post them all!

The Best Medicine

Once again I've resisted posting those lovely slideshows of Bobby in the wretsling ring or fiddling with the pipes in the pharmacy, and settled for some delicious stills.

Get out the smelling salts - I predict some fainting spells!

It was difficult to resist

But this time the slideshows in the antique dealer's office and at the auction house have stayed in my album. Still left me with a great selection, though:

In answer to Sunday's Stunt Claw or Hand of Dreams question, I can reveal for those who did not check back that, as Diane said of True Hand pictures, you can really be sure if the camera pulls back from The Hand to reveal The Man, and in this case it did. Until it did, I wondered, as the hand we see looks a bit more wrinkled than the smooth, sleek one we recognise at once. The cuff is also hidden, which can be a sign of a fake. There is one stunt hand that is not a hairy claw, but is quite like The One, but this isn't it - it's the real thing.

This is work

At the end of term, most schoolkids have an easy time (staff too) by doing non-curriculum stuff for the last lesson in each subject.

I see no reason why my student shouldn't take advantage of this, despite being home-tutored, so I took in a couple of films. He's 18 now, and legally entitled to watch adult certificate films, and today we watched Staten Island.

He was suffering a bit with a congested chest, and this detracted from his enjoyment, but there was plenty of violence and swearing to keep him interested.

And of course, for me, there was Vincent...

On Fire

I have finally managed (against all odds) to get the last S5 episode from the commercial dvds capped.

First the dvd didn't read on the computer, and I found it had got stuck in the drive. I was sensible enough to unplug and remove the battery before trying to prise it out. Then the playback kept getting stuck at the point where G/E interview the looney flatmate. A quick clean-up improved that, though I did notice there were also scratches, presumably from the disc's adventure inside the machine.

The auto-adjust of the dull, dark pictures turned out a bit strange, with pictures from the same scene coming out completely differently. Finally, a few pictures are of a different size from the others, apparently self-cropped.

Never mind, at least there's some "new" Bobby to look at.
