Once in 400 Years

The last time there was a lunar eclipse that coincided with the winter solstice was 1638. It happened today at just after 7.40 am. I was up and ready.

It was cloudy.

JoJo said...: Pretty cool eh? I wasn't sure we'd have clear enough skies to see it, and it takes an act of Congress to get me out of my warm bed in the middle of a cold winter night, so I didn't get up. I think it started here a little after 10:30 pm last night, and I was already in bed.

mauigirl said...: I was up most of the night, trying to get a glimpse in between the clouds. We saw a bit close to full eclipse, then, 2 million clouds totally blocked everything. Really annoying!; 4:58 pm
