18 Wheels of Christmas

Thanks to Heather, I have now both seen Vincent performing onstage and heard his radio interview and performance of this song. If only they'd recorded it and brought it out for Christmas, it could have been a number 1!

Anyway, for good or bad, I can't stop singing it. Every time Shelley cat woke me during the night (and boy, did he wake me a LOT!) the number was going through my head! And it's not even my kind of music.

Wrongful Life

The subject of this episode is one that gives me a great deal of thought, given my job.

No, I'm not exaggerating.

Arachnophobes close your eyes now.

I've never liked spiders. I've always dreaded them getting tangled in my hair with their webs. The huge one I saw in the bathroom mirror crawling up the front of my nightdress when I was in my mid-teens produced a scream that is still echoing round the world.

When I started gardening, I foundI could tolerate spiders better, as long as they were not in danger of getting on me.

A couple of months ago, on two occasions, I picked up a spider because there was no alternative. Now, with my new-found bravery, I find I love the look of really big, hairy spiders, and I want to touch one.

But then, they don't scuttle around at breakneck speed and lurk under the bed waiting to creep on you in your sleep.

They say most people swallow a spider in their sleep at some time in their lives.

Sweet dreams!

Short and Sweet

Simon's cat has made another brief appearance. As usual, it's brilliantly observed, and we've all been there.

Want - Post 2300

Never was a title more apt.
For some reason known only to Photobucket, only a small proportion of the pictures I chose got converted into code. Oh well, I suppose we mustn't expect life to be too easy.
