Guess Who?

I don't know how many of the revelations about our MPs' fiddling of their expenses have reached elsewhere in the world.

One former minister, Elliott Morley, MP for Scunthorpe, has been exposed as having received £16,000 for a mortgage that had already been paid off.

In my youth there was a TV advert which went, "Who put the T(ea) in Britain? Guess who?

Typhoo!"

There grew up an alternative jingle which went, "Who put the 'cunt' in Scunthorpe?" but there was no answer till now:

Guess who? The voters.

Identity Crisis

ALmost at the end of my tour through the chosen numbers of all the Goren/Eames episodes from One to Faithfully.

These are pretty good, and I AM NOT GOING TO POST ANY EXTRAS TODAY! Ha, ha! You didn't know I could be a torturer, did you?

Playing Dead

Ah, this is why I installed wireless broadband. Sitting in the garden, where a strong breeze is making the heat bearable, watching a squirrel dismantle the heavy-duty peanut feeder, and listening to the starlings squabble in the bushes, while I click merrily on pictures of Vincent.

Here are the regular pictures:

And here are my "free choices":

Animals in Action

At London Zoo they have an amphitheatre where they show animals performing natural behaviours. But, of course, they have to be trained to perform at the appropriate time.

After today's show, which incuded skunks, green-wing macaws and a burrowing owl, the keepers invited those who wished, to stay behind and watch some training in process.

These are the darlings we saw being given target and clicker training with food treats:

These little 11-week-old meerkats were rejected by their mother and have been raised by the keepers, so they are already very attached to their humans. I think it's mutual.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of this heron perched precariously on a roof top, each foot gripping a very pointy ridge tile.

Outside the gift shop they've installed an animated model dinosaur skeleton to advertise the film Night At The Museum 2.

You could tell from some distance when it did its stuff, by the sound of children screaming.

Frame

The pictures are fine today, but as there are more than 200 left in my album after 301, I must share some of them with you.

Well, obviously, I couldn't just choose from the last 200...

Oh look - a box. I wonder if it has a heart in it?

Doctor Robert

Someone suggested this ages ago, and I finally got round to doing it.

Legacy

It never ceases to amaze me how big a class divide there seems to be in the US, if the L&O franchise is an accurate reflection. Private schools seem to figure large in the show, rarely showing them in a good light. This episode is a case in point.

I thought the make-up of the pictures justified a few more.
