No Stress...

...in any position. Though Bobby looked pretty stressed in that jail.

Plenty of eyelashes, hands and groin, of course. And hunky arms and - well, you get the idea.

It's Vincent Night

Lucky people in the UK with Indie Movies can watch Thumbsucker tonight at 9pm. And on Movies 24 Pelham is showing again at 12.30am. (They count it as one of their "Movies for Men" - ha!)

Banished or Vanished?

Along with Art, Hallmark doesn't think we can be allowed to watch this:

or this:

We can, however, see this - and will do tonight:

Time for...

...a bit of neck therapy.

The Jerboa

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the same people that run London Zoo, where I'm a "friend", ran a mission to the Gobi Desert to try to film this endangered species in the wild. It is the size of a mouse, with ears twice as big as its head, and it bounces around like a kangaroo, but with a long tufty tail.

Thanks to Jamsoft for the ripped footage.

Transitions

Some favourite bits of Amends showing Vincent's amazing control over his facial expressions.

It was worth it!

There has been an ad for Cadbury's dairy Milk chocolate on TV recently, with a closeup of a guy in a gorilla suit apparently listening to this Phil Collins song, then suddenly he launches into the drumming part.

One of my autistic students has been driving us mad with this for weeks. Then today we had the school talent show, and he was the featured drummer and singer in a performance of the number. He was GREAT!

Thanks to Macegrove for the video.

And who wouldn't love THIS someone?

The road from a crush...

...to an obsession.

In April 2004, at the tender age of 51, osteo-arthritis caused me to need a total hip replacement. When I came out of hospital I was pretty much housebound for a while, and I started to watch my videos of LOCI. At that time we only had Season 1 in the UK.

I became interested in the dates which appeared with the "doink, doinks" and wondered if they ever overlapped between episodes, and if the outfits were ever different for the same date. Unfortunately I had not labelled the tapes properly, and had no idea of the correct order of the episodes.

So I sat down with a large notebook and made a series of charts to record plotline, date, he wore, she wore. I made notes on every scene in every episode.

By the time I'd finished that, there was nothing else I ever wanted to watch.

As for research - all the dates are completely bogus, so I could draw no conclusions about continuity at all. But I did notice when he "changed" his teeth.
